Xilinx Expands eSP Portal for New Applications Addressed by New Spartan-3 Platform
Online resource accelerates product development for automotive, broadband technologies, digital video, home networking, industrial, scientific and medical, and test and measurement applications
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Xilinx, Inc., , in conjunction with the introduction of the newest Spartan-3 FPGA family, Xilinx today announced the release of five new segments on the Xilinx eSP Web portal (http://www.xilinx.com/esp/s3.htm), dedicated to accelerating all phases of product development for a wide array of markets and applications. Xilinx expanded the online resource with segments specific to automotive, industrial, scientific and medical, test and measurement, and broadband technologies. Both the home networking and digital video segments have also been expanded in support of the new markets and applications targeted by today's launch of a new class of 90nm Spartan(R) solutions -- the Spartan-3 platform.

With Spartan-3, Xilinx will be able to address entirely new high volume applications in the "sweet spot" of mid-range ASICs, such as low cost routers, storage servers, medical and industrial imaging, and residential gateways. This new family of FPGAs is ideally suited for applications that demand cost sensitive, I/O intensive, high-gate count solutions to support high system throughput and processing.
